When merchandise found out that Deakin had a zero waste by 2030 commitment, it changed everything about our mindset and our understanding of our responsibilities.

One of a number of ways that merchandise is tackling the challenge of zero-waste by 2030 is developing collaborations with Melbourne based makers who are turning waste into reusable, functional and (in-our-opinion) exciting new merch pieces.

These items, featured here, are developed in collaboration with IntoCarry from the old 'enviro bags' that Deakin has used for events. Whilst the enviro bags can be re-used, they can't be easily recycled. So turning them into an item that has longevity helps prevent them from ending up in landfill.
